Kaler Andrenos, Majolic the Bloodwalker, and Calyx the Ancient in Abyssal PrecipiceThe first boss of Abyssal Precipice. Kaler Andrenos only has two abilities to worry about:
Ice Geyser: Spawns a pillar of ice underneath a player. Before it spawns, a circle on the ground appears. Deals damage and knockbacks players in range.
Icy Explosion: A very powerful AoE that will 1 shot anyone. Kaler Andrenos uses the emote, "Kaler Andernos calls on the power from the abyss!" when casting this.Strategy
This fight is very simple. First off, when Kaler Andrenos summons an Ice Geyser, the group must move away from the circle as to avoid the damage and eventually eruption of the pillar. Getting hit by this can not only kill you, but also knock you all over the place. Simply put, avoid the circle on the ground.Secondly, you must line of sight Icy Explosion, which is a very long cast. Use the pillar of ice spawned by Ice Geyser to hide behind. Hiding behind the pillar will avoid getting hit by Icy Explosion.
Repeat the above steps to victory.
The second boss of Abyssal Precipice. Majolic the Bloodwalker begins as Majolic, an elite with very low health. Simply DPS him to 50% and he will begin casting Blood Surge. Blood Surge will kill Majolic and spawn Majolic the Bloodwalker. Blood Surge also hits very hard, but has a small range. Everyone should run out of range of the AoE before it goes off. Once Majolic the Bloodwalker spawns, re-engage. Majolic the Bloodwalker has the following abilities:
Blood Contagen: This ability will put the debuff, Infected Blood, on a player. This will deal damage over time to both the player and nearby allies. Infected Blood is dispellable.
Blood Crystal: Encases a player in a Blood Crystal. This player cannot take any actions and will eventually die. The Blood Crystal must be killed to free the player.Strategy
This fight is very simple if done correctly. First, do not be in range of Blood Surge when Majolic casts it. It is a long enough cast that melee can DPS as long as they run away when he begins casting Blood Surge. The tank can also run away to be safe, but that isn't necessary.Secondly, your healers must dispell Infected Blood. In order to reduce its effect, make sure everyone is spread out. However, this should instantly be dispelled and do no damage.
Lastly, when a player is encased in a Blood Crystal, the group must destroy this Blood Crystal as soon as possible. Not only can this cause a wipe if your healer is encased too long, but the Blood Crystal will also eventually kill the player.
Overall, avoid Blood Surge, dispell Infected Blood, and destroy Blood Crystals.
The last boss of Abyssal Precipice. Calyx the Ancient is a fairly tough event due to his many AoE abilities. First off, Calyx the Ancient has an incredibly long Role Play prior to being active. Thus, as I did in the video, it doesn't hurt to begin this event while killing the last pack of trash.
Once the fight begins, Calyx the Ancient has the following abilities:
Jagged Ice Shield: A reflective shield he casts on himself. The reflected damage is quite low.
Hydro Blast: Single target direct damage ability. Calyx the Ancient will target whoever he is casting Hydro Blast on. Deals moderate damage.
Frozen Wrath: A powerful AoE that will hit everyone in line of sight.
Abyssal Depths: A powerful ground AoE. Will encase a player in ice if they do not move out of it within a few seconds. The ice will cause the player to be unable to take any actions for about 5 seconds.Strategy
First off, your group should ignore the Jagged Ice Shield ability. Obviously, do not attack him if he has this on and you are low on health because you will kill yourself. Other than that, your DPS should DPS through it. If they don't, it will be a very long fight and your healer will run out of mana. Jagged Ice Shield should be ignored.Secondly, your group must avoid the Abyssal Depths. Calyx the Ancient does not cast these, they will just appear underneath a player. It is a great idea to spread out during this fight so that multiple people are not affected by 1 Abyssal Depth. Not only does this deal lots of damage, but any players caught in it will become encased in ice.
Lastly, your healer must be able to heal through the AoE damage. Not only will the tank be taking a decent amount of damage, but also random group members will through Hydro Blast. Add in some damage from Abyssal Depths and that's a lot. However, the real painful AoE is Frozen Wrath! Frozen Wrath will hit your entire group for about 40-60% of their total health. It is very crucial to keep people above 75% health during this fight.
This is a very healing intensive fight and thus, an important DPS fight. Eventually, your healer will run out of mana. Calyx the Ancient has to die at a relatively fast pace.
